Friday Night Fun At Julie and Mike's House

Julie and Mike invited us to dinner on Friday. It was great! We had smoked chicken, green beans, and roasted potatoes. It was wonderful. An electric smoker is on our Christmas wish list for sure! Great food and great friends! As you can see from the pictures Hannah and Hudson enjoyed the meal too. After dinner Hannah showed off her balancing skills and walked Julie all over the living room. She will be walking soon! Hudson had so much fun doing what little and big boys love to do...."rough house". Mike and Hudson did airplane, swinging, wrestled, and walked on the ceiling. Hudson even tried to play fair by giving Mike a turn too. Hudson and Mike also got in some GI Joe cartoon time. We had a great time. The kids had a bath before we went over so it was bed time when we got home. Yeah for mom!

Hudson's First Field Trip-Glass Bottom Boat

What a fun day! It was a great day for a glass bottom boat ride. Hudson had a lot of firsts today. It was his first time to go on a school field trip, first time to ride a school bus, and his first time to ride on a glass bottom boat. He started having fun the moment we arrived at school because he was going to ride on a school bus. You all would have enjoyed this ride. It was a grand adventure to view a bus trip through the eyes of a 3 yr old. And it would have made many of our family members laugh when we drove by Zia's and Hudson recognized it and was excited. He said "mommy there is Zia's, I like eating there, it is my favorite." We arrived at the marina and that was an adventure because of all the different boats, the coral, searching and finding the quickly running crabs. Then we went aboard the Coral Queen. All the kids were so excited and pleasantly greeted the captain and shipmate. They passed around the different types of coral that would been seen (finger coral, spiny coral, and mushroom coral), then we went over the types of fish and talked about possibly seeing the hammerhead shark (no we did not see any b/c they are not here in great numbers at this time of the year). Hudson was really excited about that. They passed around the teeth and jaw of a shark. As you will see in the pictures Hudson loved that. The hammerhead shark breads in K-Bay once a year. We left out of a marina on K-Bay which is the largest bay in HI. This is also the bay that the Marine Corps Base is located. During our adventure we saw lots of coral, fish, a diver, and some turtles. The kids were able to go out on the boat and feed the fish and they all loved that. That is when the turtles arrived. Then the kids were able to sit on top of the front of the boat for the ride back. That did not last long for any of the kids because there was much to see and do on the boat. After they got off the Coral Queen it was back to searching for crabs and fish in the marina. Then yeah, back to the school bus and finally back to the school. What a fun day.Oh, and Hannah she was able to go play with Mrs. Amber from church and her son Owen. She had a good time too.
